Holiday Cover and Services The Rev. Duncan Eddie will be going on holiday from next Friday. Next Sunday, 6th July, worship will be conducted by Rev Ian Strachan followed by a celebration of Communion. Worship on Sundays 13th and 20th July will be conducted by Dr Audrey Dawson. Any matters requiring the attention of a minister during Rev. Eddie's absence will be attended by Rev. Kenneth Petrie of Craigiebuckler Parish Church. |
Church Open Times The Sanctuary is open on Mondays 1.30pm - 3.30pm and Thursdays 9.00am - 11.00am, to allow people to drop in for quiet prayer and reflection. Volunteers are needed - please put your name on the list outside the vestry. You are invited along to make use of the facility. |
Gift Day Appeal A great response has been given to the Gift Day Appeal. Over £7700 has been given. A big thank you to everyone who has given so generously. |
Recycle Your Yellow Pages Following on from the visit of the Ashley Road Primary School Eco-Committee, a request has been made for the front covers of old books of Yellow Pages, to be handed in to the church. You are asked to put the actual Yellow Pages book into the paper recycling yourselves and hand in only the cover. This will assist Ashley Road School as promoting care of the environment. |
Door Duty Rota The new door duty rota from July to November is now on the noticeboard outside the Vestry. |
Malawi Fund Raising Verna Ward from our congregation, will be joining with members of other congregations in Aberdeen Presbytery, to visit Blantyre City Presbytery in Malawi, and our partner congregation St. Columba. Anyone who would like to contribute to the transport of Verna's trip, please give a cheque made payable to Holburn West Church, or cash, in a sealed envelope marked "Malawi Trip" to the Treasurer. |
Help-one-another Meets on Monday 30th June at 2.30pm for gentle exercise with Sheila McKenzie. Please bring 2 tins. Our next meeting is Monday 21st July when we are hosting a Marie Curie Cancer Care's "Blooming Great Tea Party". Ask all your friends to support this worthwhile cause. The Holburn West Church Summer Holiday Club will take place Monday - Friday, 11th to 15th August 2008. The theme is "Champion's Challenge" relating the Bible to the Olympics. Registration forms are available from the Church Office. |

Friends of Ashley Lodge Coffee Morning, Sale and Silent Auction Holburn West Church Halls. Saturday 16th August 2008, 10am 'till 12noon. Various stalls. Tickets prices £1.50 adults and 75pence for children available from June Henderson and Sylvia McKenzie, who will be happy to accept donations for Cake & Candy, Books and Games, Plants and Nearly New Stalls. Contributions can also be delivered to the Holburn West Church Halls on Friday 15th August between 7pm and 9pm. Come along and support this fund raising effort. |
