Holocaust Memorial Day is commemorated internationally on 27th January each year. This date was chosen as it is the anniversary of the day in 1945 on which the Soviet Army liberated the largest Nazi concentration camp – Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The Choir sang an additional anthem today in order to mark the musical and cultural attacks which took place during the Nazi regime. .

During this service, Diana Findlay, Alastair McKelvie (Tenor Emeritus) and Martin Birnie (Tenor Emeritus) were presented with a gift by the Minister to thank them for many years of service to different aspects of life in the church. Both Alastair and Martin were in the Choir for many years and we are indebted to them for the contribution they made to the Choir rehearsals and to Sunday Worship.
Diana was thanked for her job of keeping and maintaining the Congregational Roll.
Martin was thanked for being responsible for the Church's Gift-Aid fund.
Alastair was thanked for his 47 years of service to the Holburn West Choir.
